The Chicks at The Reins

Circle J Ranch was founded in 1961 by John and Grace Simpson. Both John and Grace were city folks with good jobs in Ottawa. John's first horse Topper started a collection. As the herd grew John started renting horses by the hour. Liz came along followed by siblings John and Julie. Grace stayed at home. As the riding stable grew, John made the ranch his full-time focus. Hourly riding morfed into day camp for kids and lessons. Boarding seemed to always be a part of the culture at Circle J Ranch. Liz was always horse crazy and eventually gave up on real jobs in town to help Grace with the ranch. Grace and Liz now look after the ranch with the help of a few wonderful employees.
